Netherlands joined P4G as a country partner and core donor in 2018 and launched its National Platform in 2020. The International Enterprise Department within the Ministry of Foreign Affairs and the Netherlands Enterprise Agency serve as the NP co-chairs.
The Netherlands’ strategic contributions and leadership on climate action and sustainable development strengthen the P4G network. Supporting 18 P4G partnerships, the country aims to facilitate knowledge-sharing of Dutch private and public sector expertise in developing countries.
This commitment to green solutions can be seen in contributions to partnerships like SokoLink, where Dutch venture builder Enviu helps increase the income of smallholder avocado farmers in Kenya, and Energise Africa, involving a Netherlands-based crowdlending platform that enables everyday investors to support clean energy projects in Africa.
From 2018-2022, P4G’s focus on circular economy projects enabled the Netherlands to support two Plastics in Circles projects: Smart Waste Collective and Recycle 2 Value, which provide integrated waste management and plastic recycling in Indonesia.
In addition to adaptation and mitigation solutions in food and agriculture and circular economy, the Netherlands also provides leadership and innovation in water resilience and renewable energy solutions including green hydrogen.
