Rasmus Abildgaard Kristensen is Vice President and Head of Group Public Affairs at Danfoss A/S, responsible for the public affairs activities of the global group, including at EU-level. As Head of Group Public Affairs, Rasmus Abildgaard Kristensen focuses on positioning Danfoss among key decision-makers and other stakeholders worldwide as a global thought leader and a strong enabler of the green transition.
Rasmus Abildgaard Kristensen joined Danfoss in 2022. He is a former career diplomat in the Danish Foreign Service with a broad range and variety of experience from overseas assignments and other international work, including as Denmark’s Ambassador to Indonesia, Timor-Leste, Papua New Guinea, and ASEAN from 2017 to 2020. Rasmus Abildgaard Kristensen also served as Head of Department for Green Diplomacy and Climate at the Ministry of Foreign Affairs of Denmark from 2020 to 2022 as well as Head of the International Department at the Danish Ministry of Climate, Energy and Utilities from 2014-2016.
Rasmus Abildgaard Kristensen has professional expertise in international climate and energy policy, public diplomacy and communication, economic diplomacy and commercial advocacy as well as human rights and corporate social responsibility. Regional experience with Asia, including China and Indonesia.
Rasmus Abildgaard Kristensen holds a MSc in Political Science from Aarhus University and a MScEcon in International Politics (with distinction) from Aberystwyth University in the United Kingdom. He also holds Bachelor’s degrees in history and political science from Aarhus University as well as a Graduate Certificate in Business Administration from the Copenhagen Business School. He speaks Danish, English, French, Chinese and Indonesian.
Rasmus Abildgaard Kristensen was appointed Knight of the Order of the Dannebrog by Her Majesty the Queen of Denmark in 2019. He is married and has a daughter.
