Misganaw Eyassu is the National Platform Liaison Consultant for Partnering for Green Growth and the Global Goals 2030 (P4G) in Ethiopia. He will be supporting the Ethiopian National Platform (NP) in conjunction with the Global Hub to facilitate the NP’s engagement in P4G and the origination, oversight and acceleration of P4G partnerships in Ethiopia.
Misganaw Eyassu has more than 17 years of programme Management and technical expertise in various fields, including Climate Change, Sustainable Development, Environmental Management, Climate Finance, Programme design and Management, Natural Capital Account, Stakeholder Management and Partnership Development, and Programme Impact Monitoring and Evaluation.
Prior to P4G, Misganaw served as the Programme Coordinator for the Climate Resilient Green Economy (CRGE) Facility at the Ministry of Finance (MOF) in Ethiopia, where he was seconded by the United Nations Development Programme (UNDP). In this role, he spearheaded efforts to build a resilient and carbon-neutral middle-income economy in Ethiopia. Misganaw spent over a decade at UNDP, serving as a Programme Coordinator for CRGE and GEF SGP Programme. He has also worked for DFID-funded programmes as a Programme Manager/Economist and as a project officer for CPAR (Canadian Physician for Aid and Relief) international NGO, where he was responsible for implementing a multi-million multi-year Integrated Food Security Programme.
Furthermore, he has served as Junior Manager for Cooperative Agency of Ethiopia and as a Field Officer for Microfinance institutions. He has also gained extensive experience in research and consultancy as a freelance and owner of a business. He also possesses extensive experience in research, consultancy, and managing multi-year multi-million donor-funded programmes/projects.
Misganaw holds B.Sc. and M.Sc. Degree in Agricultural Economics from Haramaya University and University of Gondar, respectively. He is also qualified and certified in areas such as ESIA and Project Management.
