Alejandra Botero is the as Regional Planning and Impact Leader at CAF where she focuses on accelerating the implementation of regional policy to position CAF as the Green Bank of Latin America. By 2026, 40% of approved funds will finance green projects.
Previously, Botero led Colombia’s Department of Planning, overseeing the national investment budget and publishing over 40 policy documents, including those supporting the Green Energy transition and the “Colombia 2050” vision.
Before joining DNP, she structured and led the Delivery Unit for the Colombian Government under President Iván Duque, coordinating and accelerating the execution of key presidential priorities.
Her experience includes promoting private R&D investment in Latin America at CAF, co-founding and directing Impact Hub Caracas, and implementing strategic initiatives at McKinsey & Company, focusing on public and financial sectors.
Botero holds degrees in Economics and Political Science from Swarthmore College and an MBA from Columbia University.
