Flemming Møller Mortensen was appointed Minister for Development Cooperation and Minister for Nordic Cooperation on November 19, 2020. Previously, he served as the Vice-chairman for the Committee on European Affairs in 2020, Chair of the parliamentary group of the Social Democratic Party 2019-2020, Vice-chairman of the Committee on Health and Senior Citizens 2015-2016, Vice-chairman of the Committee on Health- and Prevention, 2012-2013, and Chair of the Cultural Affairs Committee, 2011-2015.
Previously, he was a Member of the Danish Parliament (Folketinget) for the Social Democratic Party in Nordjylland’s greater constituency in 2007. His background is in medicine, where he has played roles as a nurse, Deputy Chief, and Hospital Specialist.
